Getting into other things…

I’m taking a break from  doing stages, to also get into restarting my mod for Streets of Rage Remake called “Street Survivors”. If you have Streets of Rage Remake, then why don’t you give my 5 year old demo a try? Why is it 5 years old you ask? Because I got busy with developing stages for the M.U.G.E.N Engine, and forgot I even had this mod in development.

I feel that it has way more potential than it shows, and at some point, I will get back into it. I’m planning on taking it back to the drawing board. I don’t feel satisfied with how it went, despite having two paths, complete with separate bosses in each. As well as a near fully working stage 2.

So, if you want to try it, click on “SORR Mods” at the top, and give it a try.

1.1 Ready Stages

I understand that there are some people, who want to see me release a 1.1 ready stage, complete with the zoom feature. And I’ll get to that. And I do understand that there are some who don’t want to wait, and will rather do it themselves.

That is all fine and good, but if you are just adding a few extra lines of coding, then I don’t see much harm in telling me this. It’s not like I’m inactive, I’m still active, just on a break from doing so. I wanted to make my very first 1.1 ready stage, on my own terms. It will be some time, before I achieve that.

Okay….so THAT happened…

If most of you who visit the page, noticed that my site was down, it wasn’t hacked or anything, nor was it suspended because of anything on my end. If anything, it was because I simply forgot to pay for my server. A simple, yet honest mistake, that usually doesn’t happen. But, that is what makes me human: making mistakes, and learning from them.

So, what does this mean? It means I need to pay a bit more attention to detail, and make sure that I get my payments out on time, like they are supposed to be.

But you also might be asking “DV, why don’t you make yourself a free site, and have advertisements run on it, so you won’t have to keep paying for it”? The reason is quite simple: I feel at ease, knowing I’m paying for something that is clearly mine. You, as the visitor, have peace of mind knowing I would NEVER allow ads on my site. So there is no need for an adblock addon to run here. it’s about $17 per month, to keep my server going, as well as keep this place ad free, and I’m okay with that.

To some, that logic makes no sense, but I’m not any of those people. I’m someone who feels convenience in knowing, that I pay for what I want, and clearly own. I want quality. So therefore, quality is what you get, when visiting my simple site. I’ve been paying for my site, for as long as I can remember, even back on the old Generation-Now days.

In any case, my site being down, was my own fault. I usually never let anything become late, but this is proof that I need to be more careful.
